Where is My honor?

Malachi 1:6-7 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

I read this the other night and it reminded me of a quote by Goethe: "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."

How often do we discount God's commands, somehow convincing ourselves that God must be pleased with us?  We just chase our fleshly desires and tell ourselves that surely God won't mind.  After all, that would be unreasonable.  We go to church; we call ourselves Christians.  What more does He want?!  Human blood?  Come on!

Micah 6:8  He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
"You reap what you sow." Respect the Lord.  Do we think less about God than we do about our significant others?  Do we toss God our leftover time, attention, and resources and expect Him to accept it?  Contempt.

Do justly.  Love mercy.  Walk humbly with God.  He comes first. Always. "Be not deceived."  If we don't sow to the Spirit, we ought not to expect to reap life everlasting. "God is not mocked."
